7 Tips For A Sexy Back This Wedding Season

Come wedding season (which starts right after the festive season) and everyone’s raring to show off that perfectly toned back and sculpted shoulders. But looking good (as you know) takes plenty of time and effort so if a sexy back is what you really want, then here are our 7 tips on how to rock that backless choli or dress:

1. Exfoliate

sexy back

Dermatologists say that the back area is often the most neglected part of the body. One reason could be because it’s often hard to reach and secondly, because we assume that since it stays covered most of the time, the skin isn’t that exposed to germs or dirt. Truth be told, the skin on your back needs to be exfoliated properly and there are two ways to do it- get your beautician to give you a good exfoliating scrub treatment or squish some body lotion on a textured brush with a handle and brush away! Either will give you a much cleaner sexy back.

2.  Treat Skin Concerns

sexy back

So you knew that there was a pimple on your back but you assumed that not doing anything about it was the better option. To be honest, you need to give special love to your back because it often takes longer to recover from any skin concerns. Got acne? Then apply a medicated body wash. Got eczema? Seek the help of a dermatologist. Got scarring? There are a number of home and cosmetic options you can look at. Whatever be your skin concern, it’s vital to get it treated at the earliest.

3. Try a Peel

Peels are trending of late because they have been proven to give skin a quick glowing boost within minutes. Plus, not to forget that they also remove dirt and other impurities, unclog pores and also help to keep whiteheads and blackheads away. We recommend trying a bridal peel which is specially formulated to bring out a bride to be’s hidden glow. Not only will it help to reduce any scarring or black spots but also give you soft supple skin that looks good. Lactic or glycolic skin peels come highly recommended!

4. Moisturise

sexy back

We bet you slather on your favourite scented body lotion on your arms and legs but you forget your back. One of the tricks to having and maintaining a sexy back is by ensuring that it is always moisturised well. We recommend using an oil based body lotion with Vitamins A & E as it will keep your skin moisturised better for longer. Plus, don’t forget that even that sexy back needs UV ray protection! Sunscreen is a must when you’re having fun in the sun.

5. Heard of a Backacial?

sexy back

Yes, there really is such a thing as a facial treatment for your back and it’s guaranteed to work wonders while all other treatments may fail. Backacials place skin polishing or microdermabrasion at the heart of its treatment and dead skin cells are exfoliated easily here. It’s not unusual for many girls and women to opt for this treatment as it gives long lasting glowing results.

6. Chemical Peels

sexy back

Backs get tanned very easily too and we may often be the last ones to actually spot it the tan. But when you’re wearing a backless choli or a dress that shows off your back, that’s the first thing that other people will notice. In order to remove pigmentation spots or to reduce tanning, chemical peels which are more concentrated are suggested for the skin. Since the consistency is thicker and the formulation stronger, chemical peels often cause skin to peel off slowly. The number of sittings needed to get the achieved effect depends on your skin type.

7. Lemon + Turmeric

sexy back

Grandma loved the results that using lemon and turmeric on the skin gave her and this miracle combination still works very well when it comes to reducing tan and giving skin a healthy glow. We suggest making a paste using the juice of half a lemon with 2 tbsps of turmeric and applying it thickly on your back till it dries properly. Another method which also works is to rub the juice of half a lemon directly on the back and to wash it off using lukewarm water. However, if you have sensitive skin, you may have tingling and slight redness.

9 Tips To Choose The Perfect Wedding Venue

$

0

Who doesn’t want their wedding to be perfect starting from the very beginning to its grand ending? As much as the colour of the lehenga, the intricate mehendi, and foot-tapping music is important; the venue has the ultimate power to lift it all up and put everything in a beautiful manner- much like the proverbial cherry on the cake that everybody loves. So today we have some tips from an expert wedding planner which will help you to get everything you have ever wanted in that picture perfect wedding as far as your wedding venue goes.

1. Make a detailed plan-Talk to a wedding planner

The very first step is to pen down everything that you want from your venue for each day. Decide on the time, the way you want it to look, the extra possibilities and so on. Keep a notebook for these entries and cross them out as you achieve these objectives. Talk to a Wedding Planner and hand it over to give the person a clear idea about your requirements.

2. Decide the budget

Sit with your fiancé and decide how much you would like to spend in order to fulfill your vision. Consider all possibilities, decide on emergency funds and pen down the estimation of every single detail. Prioritize things and leave a small room for last minute expenses.

tips for finding the perfect wedding venue

Image: Cineyug Celebrations

3. List the number of guests

State a rough estimate of how many guests will be there and prepare yourself to accept any last minute R.S.V.Ps. The decision of the venue will mainly depend on the number of guests and whether that venue has the scope to accommodate extra people. If not, it should at least allow other options.

4. Check its availability

Check with the venue if it is available for the date that you have in your mind. If you are open with any other date, then you will have a wider choice, but if the date is already fixed, the chances of either compromising or adjusting is high, unless you turn out to be quite lucky.

5. Tour the venue

Take a tour of the venue and its surroundings. Find out what it has to offer on the outside and inside. Sit down and think whether you are happy with its location, the view, the area and its aura. Ask if the location is easily accessible, whether it will provide all the basic amenities like parking, easy approach road, extra rooms, electricity, water supply, room service, etc.

how to find the best Indian wedding Venues

6. Check climatic conditions

You need to have the knowledge about the weather and how the conditions are going to be around the time you are planning on having your big day. The weather will have a major role to play when you are planning to have your wedding outdoors. You need to see whether your venue has the space to fit the guests if the weather changes suddenly.

7. Be mindful of guests experience

Keep in mind your guests experience. As much as it is about you being happy, the choice of venue also has a lot to do with the happiness of your guests. Leave no chance to make them feel special and wanted, enjoy every minute of their presence and give them something worth remembering and talking for nearly a lifetime. Good wishes come straight from the heart and it’s all related to the way one feels. These are the things that really matter.

8. Understand venue policies

Always take out time specially for reviewing the policies in order to eliminate chances of mistakes or last minute confusion. Be at peace while reviewing the policies of the venue. See what the entire venue has to offer and read about their rules and restrictions. Know about the time deadline, the expectations they have from you and delegate upon the scope of some win-win situation for the things you don’t agree.

9. Put your needs in the forefront

Consider your personality, wishes, and your uniqueness as a couple. Let the venue, decorations, theme and everything making up that day justify you and your partner. People should feel connected and you and your partner should feel the ultimate sense of belonging. The presence of the things that make you up will give you all the good vibes, make you feel at home and will give a feeling that everything is happening for good.

10 Tips to Get Yellow Stains off Your Fingernails

Yellow nails (or yellow stains on the nails) can be a result of wearing nail colours way too often. The chemicals used in the nail colours, mostly the dark coloured ones, cause discolouration of nails resulting in yellow stains. It can also be caused by bacterial or fungal infections. Now, before you resort to painting your nails with acrylic shades to hide stained nails, do take a look  at some easy tricks and tips to get those annoying stains off your nails.

Easy ways to get rid of yellow fingernails

fingernails tips for brides to be

1. Use dark nail paints less often

Who doesn’t love the darker shades of nail paints, but using the dark colours very often is not good for your nails’ health. So, try to paint your nails with the lighter colours. It’d be even better if you can go for a few days without any nail paints and let your nails breathe.

2. Introduce base coat to your nails

You might have never used it, but base coats are there for a reason; to protect nails. Try applying one protective layer of base coat before the nail colour. Some base coats are even meant to keep your nails healthier. Make this trick a habit each time you colour your nails.

3. Go for subtle buffing of nails

Using nail buff is usually not recommended as it could damage the outer layer of the cuticle. But if your outer layer is too stained to try any other remedy, then you might want to buff the layer using a buffing file. Try not to scrub it too hard.

4. Rub lemon juice

Cut a slice of lemon and rub it on the nails on it. This natural ingredient can help you a lot with its acidic compounds to get rid of those stubborn stains. You can either rub the lemon slice for 30 to 60 seconds or you can dab a cotton ball in one tablespoon of lemon juice and rub it on the nails thoroughly. Let it sit for half an hour before rinsing your nails with cold water.

5. Use hydrogen peroxide scrub

You need a tbsp of hydrogen peroxide which is available at medicine stores and some water to create a mixture. Now, take an old toothbrush, dip it into the mixture and rub the brush on your nails for a minute or two. You can also directly dip your fingernails into the solution until the stains are gone.

fingernails

6. Baking soda

The ultimate whitening agent, baking soda can be a great aid for fighting yellowed fingernails. Just follow the same method of hydrogen peroxide and you will be able to see the changes soon.

7. Denture cleaning tablets

You might have used these tablets to whiten your teeth. The same tablets can be used to whiten your fingernails as well. Just soak one or two tablets in water and soak your fingernails for 10 to 15 minutes depending on the severity of the situation. After rinsing, apply some moisturiser on your hands.

8. Whitening toothpaste

Toothpaste can be a magic and extremely versatile ingredient that comes really handy in such situations. Apply some of your regular toothpaste on your nails, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing it off.

9. Tea tree oil

In case the stains are not caused by nail colours but due a bacterial or fungal infection, then tea tree oil can be a great remedy. Rub a drop of tea tree oil on your nails, let it sit for a minute and rinse it off with warm water. This remedy works wonders for all kinds of nail infections.

10. Nail whitening pencil

If everything fails or if you are in a hurry to hide your nail stains then use a nail whitening pencil for immediate results.

One feature that stood out from all their photographs and yes Neha has so generously shared quite a few awesome clicks on her Twitter and social media accounts was that the couple seemed to be enjoying themselves no matter where they were and looked so happy together. Don’t believe us? Take a look for yourself then:

The pre wedding shoot by Burn Pixels features plenty of clicks that were taken in lush vineyards and also photos exclusively of Neha alone with her furry little pal. We think the photographer did an awesome job of capturing her pensive excited mood.

The wedding was honestly a scene lifted straight from a Bollywood movie. With a simple rural like setting, dreamy weather and plenty of greenery to lift one’s spirits, we cant think of a more romantic setting for a celeb wedding. Oh, and Neha’s dream gown was designed by Tanieya Khanuja. Isn’t that enough reason to plan a Tuscany wedding for yourself?

Sabyasachi Tips On Bridal Wear Trends

$

He is often called the Prince of Bridal Wear and rightly so. That’s because it’s the dream of almost every Indian girl who loves designer wear to be seen in a Sabysachi bridal lehenga or sari. This Bengali designer is well known for his embroidery work, attention to intricate details, use of traditional colours and of course for the sheer ‘Indian-ness’ of his creations. So, of course, this much loved designer had a few tid-bits to share with regard to what he thinks is trending and will continue to be hot in 2017 and in early 2018 too. So here are our favourite tips that he had to share:

Groom Wear Gets Jazzy

sabyasachi designer wear

Grooms have always been expected to show up at the wedding wearing the usual traditional colours. Sabyasachi on the other hand, prefers grooms to be dressed in elegant shades of ivory and gold but for the bridegroom who wants to be a lot more eye-catching then that; floral prints are also a great choice to wear.

A Fishtail looks best on a Fish

Sabyasachi says kill the fishtail

Fishtail wedding gowns were trending in a big way this year and although a fishtail looks quite sexy in a western outfit because it shows off the figure rather well, the same fishtail can look rather comical when used in an Indian lehenga. So, as the prince himself says ‘Kill the fishtail’.

Burgundy is the New Pink

Many Sabyasachi fans may have been surprised to see burgundy showing up time and again in his autumn- wedding bridal collection wear but we think that choosing this shade to be in the spotlight was a pretty smart move. Especially since burgundy is one shade that suits many skin tones too. So take your pick from:

Gwalior Lehenga

The best Mughal motifs, pearls and silk unite to make a bride look regal.

Gulkand Lehenga

sabyasachi designer wear

Gold, burgundy and playful notes of pink merge to create lehengas that are outstanding.

Champakali Lehenga

sabyasachi designer wear

Lehengas that are a mix of red and pink come in raw silk and have intricate zardosi work on them.

Noor Lehenga

Elegance is taken one notch higher with creations that feature birds and animals, large motifs as well as semi-precious stones and crystals for a classy shimmery look.

Oh and if you’re wondering when Sabyasachi just might put pen to paper and sketch bridal wear with a modern touch, then you’re likely to be disappointed. The prince of bridal wear believes that on her wedding day, a bride should wear nothing less than traditional bridal attire because of its timeless quality.

4 Ways To Wear Bridal Tassels

Tassels have always been a part of Indian bridal couture in some way or the other. The best part about wearing bridal tassels was that it didn’t have to be a loud statement, but playfully reveal itself in a peek-a-boo manner- or at least that was what designers thought up until now. Going by 2017 bridal trends however, tassels are no longer a small part of bridal wear anymore. Instead, they are a fashion statement in themselves. Designers too are going all out to give bridal tassels an exclusive customised appeal. Here are a few ways in which you too can shine at your own wedding:

Waist Tassels

bridal tassels

bridal tassels

Those colourful tassels dangling from the waist are looking even better these days. Artwork, motifs, names, slogans, punchlines and in general, anything that’s deemed quirky, is now being worn proudly. Brides don’t mind gifting these tassels to bridesmaids and other friends too. In fact, it’s quite remarkable to note how the right tassel can add much drama to a wedding outfit.

Blouse Tassels

bridal tassels

bridal tassels

When worn on a blouse, these bridal tassels can add a high degree of sexiness that would otherwise not be there in a bridal ensemble. The length of the tassels however shouldn’t be overdone- overflowing tassels that are as long as the skirt or which is the full saree length would look unbecoming. Make sure that the tassels aren’t too long and stand out in colour or design.

Footwear Tassels

bridal tassels

bridal tassels

Would you wear tassels on your feet? Well, why not? When the designs are beautiful and add to the look of the footwear, tassels can make your whole outfit look classy. However, in that case, you should also make sure that your footwear doesn’t have other embellishments like sequins, embroidery or mirror work as the overall effect could be too jarring.

Tassel Jewellery

bridal tassels

Who knew that bridal tassels could make jewellery look this grand too? We suggest keeping the overall tone simple and letting the tassels do all the talking especially if you plan to wear them in a maang-tikka. Kaliren used in the North are classic examples of  tassels.

Happy Wednesday, dear brides! We’ve received a beautiful real wedding in the middle of the week. Photographer Nivedita Ghosh has sent us some lovely photos from Nidhi & Ritesh’s big day and boy are they sweet! There are tons of classic elements along with sophistication and elegance in today’s real wedding, so let us jump right into it.

Full names of bride and groom

Nidhi Kavle & Ritesh Chaudhary
Nivedita Ghosh Photography real wedding at Club Millennium Juhu

We met…

At my first job at an advertising agency called Milestone Brandcom

Nivedita Ghosh Photography real wedding at Club Millennium Juhu

Our proposal…

That’s the funny part, there wasn’t any. It was sort of an unsaid understanding!

Our wedding theme/colours

Classic, simple and elegant. I love fairy lights and associate them with joy and love. I used them all over the venue to create a halo of happiness :). My wedding lehenga was beige and red with silver-gold zari work. He wore a red and beige kurta pyjama. So yes, we were colour coordinated.

Where I bought my dress from

My clothes were from Jade & a quaint boutique called Fuchsia in Bandra.

His suit was from….

I can’t remember the name, but it was from a boutique in Juhu, opposite JW Marriott.

Our ceremony

We had a 3-day wedding that included Cocktail, Mehendi followed by the Wedding and Reception.

We chose our wedding coordinator because

I wish I had chosen one, I was bridezilla level 100! Man weddings are tough! Wish I’d let someone else do all the hard work.
We chose our venue because
Club Milennium Juhu, Mumbai. We chose it because we had a December wedding and it was the only venue available on short notice! I wanted something close to home and it was ideal.

Our menu

The food was mainly Indian and Chinese.

Our honeymoon…

We chose Maldives, Lux – South Ari Atoll. Seriously, it was a fairy-tale honeymoon and we stayed there for 6 days. We had booked 2 different rooms to ensure we would get the full ‘island’ experience. The place we stayed in was an over water villa and we also stayed in a beach villa with a private pool for the remaining part of our stay.

My favourite part of the wedding day…

Well, to be honest, the part when it was over!!!! Honestly, I was exhausted by the end of it. Mostly, because I didn’t let ANYBODY take control of ANYTHING! I wanted to make sure everything was perfect and couldn’t bring myself to depend on anyone else to get my vision.

My piece of advice for other brides…

Get a planner ladies, please!

Supplier Spotlight: Meet The Father-Daughter Wedding Photographer Team of Camera Crew!

weddingsonline India and Weddings By Camera Crew go way back. When we first launched in India in 2012, Camera Crew were one of the first teams to come on board. Needless to say, we have a very special place for them in our hearts. Today we had a tete-a-tete with Rajesh Dembla, founder of Weddings By Camera Crew and his daughter Soniya. Read on to find out what makes them one of the best Indian wedding photographers today….

Weddings by Camera Crew are hugely popular! To what do you attribute this fame? How did you start out? What attracted you to wedding photography in the first place?

I would attribute this fame to the passion for photography which helps me capture precious moments and immortalise them. It was this passion that inspired me to start Camera Crew Productions in 2006. My daughter Soniya recently joined me to take the company to the next level. With her background in media communication and advertising (she has a Masters degree in International Strategic Marketing from the University of Glasgow), she handles the management part of the business. Starting on a small scale to slowly entering into luxury wedding photography and filming by 2009 has been quite a journey! Today we are well known for capturing wonderful love stories and immortalising the best day of a couple’s life. The thought of beautifying someone’s best memories through photography and filming skills is what attracts us to this field. And very honestly, our passion has only grown ever since.

interview feature with weddings by Camera Crew Productions

What is your USP, your mantra for all this success?

Our mantra is to try and capture the wedding through the eyes of the bride and groom, i.e., thinking about how the couple would want to look back on their special day and be able to cherish it

You do a lot of pre-wedding and wedding shoots out of India. How different is it shooting outside than in the homeland?

interview feature with weddings by Camera Crew Productions

We would say every wedding and each love story is unique and has its own magic. As far as the difference in covering these weddings is concerned, destination weddings, especially the ones abroad, often stand out as they have their own look and feel. Just the way anything extra-ordinary stands out! The cultural blend is what we would say amazes us most. Logistics are tough, but in the end it is all worth the effort.

Describe a typical Camera Crew bride

interview feature with weddings by Camera Crew Productions

She is just like any other bride, if we have to describe her in few words “enthusiastic, excited, a bit anxious ” are what would cut it. They really have to have all those emotions and feelings. Any bride would usually come to us saying “Soniya/ Rajesh I want my wedding video to be extraordinary and I trust you guys for that” which is understood as we hold the responsibility of how they would be cherishing the best day of their life.

Can you share with our readers a few of your experiences (good, bad, challenging) shooting weddings?

Each and every wedding is challenging in its own way. It’s crazy but fun too. Every couple, family and location is different and fitting in and getting things in flow can be challenging. What is lovely is that we end up building a good rapport with most of our clients and over time we become friends with them. In fact; we are still in touch with quite a few of our couples and their families till date.

Discuss 3 of your favorite wedding images. Why are they your favorites?

I don’t think word can do justice to what pictures can speak. Attaching below some of my favourites.

Interview with Weddings by Camera Crew

interview with Weddings by Camera Crew

interview feature with weddings by Camera Crew Productions

How do you deal with camera-shy couples?

In order to capture their emotions, we believe a photographer must know and understand each couple. Once that is covered, even the camera-shy couples are at ease. So we always try to built a good rapport and make them comfortable with the environment we are shooting in as well as with our team members. We also constantly give them suggestions before as well as during the shoot.

Finally, any words of advice to our couples-to-be regarding their wedding albums?

Keep it simple and don’t go after having too many pictures on it. If we got your album covered, don’t worry you will get all the emotions from your wedding day back even if you go through your pictures 10 years down the line.

Want Healthy Long Hair? Read Our 8 Bridal Tips

$

Hair that’s long and lustrous has been raved about for centuries and Indian women in particular have always been known to wear their hair with pride. However, times have changed and these days, not many of us really have the time or the patience to give our tresses the love and care they deserve. But here’s the thing- the way you carry your hairstyle on your wedding day will add that quotient of spice to your overall ensemble.

Here are our 8 stylist approved and time tested tricks that are guaranteed to help you grow great looking long hair so that you look nothing short of ravishing on your wedding day:

1. Trims Are Good

long hair

You don’t really have to wait for 3- 6 months just to get a haircut. In fact, you can stay chic and smart by asking your hair stylist to give you mini trims at least once a month or every 6 weeks. Trims when spaced out evenly can help the visible hair stay manageable and stylish.

2. Get Rid of Split Ends

long hair

Hair is actually so fragile that even the slightest application of heat can cause long lasting damage and result in split ends. There’s no point in having long hair which isn’t healthy at the tips, so snip away those split ends.

3. Minimise Heat

long hair

Using hair straighteners, curling irons and any other appliance that requires applying heat to your hair will undoubtedly boost your confidence but it does nothing for long hair or mid length tresses. Let your hair wear its natural look and you’ll find that it grows well at its normal pace.

4. Say Yes to Oil

long hair

Image courtesy Amita & Suraaj Photography

Your grandma was right about oiling your tresses. Hot oil works wonders for the scalp and long hair when applied regularly and acts as a natural hair conditioner. Not to mention that coconut oil also helps to fight any scalp infections and keeps hair looking good naturally.

5. Try a Scalp Treatment

long hair

Ever heard of scalp treatments? Yes, there is such a thing and talking to your stylist will help you pick one that suits your scalp type. Most scalp treatments include the use of natural essential oils and other ingredients which help to ensure that stronger hair grows eventually.

6. Use Hair Masks

long hair

Don’t have time to oil each week? Then pick up a good deep hydrating hair mask which replenishes hair moisture and keeps it looking good. Think of it as a facial for the hair!

7. Go Sulphate Free

long hair

We may not realise it but the ingredients that cause maximum damage to our hair are usually right under our noses. Purchase sulphate free shampoo and conditioner so that you moisturise your hair each time you wash instead of making it drier.

8. Supplements Are Good

long hair

It goes without saying that what you eat also has an impact on your long hair. So, why not make sure that you give yourself only the best nutrient rich food to eat? Add lots of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids to your diet and take additional supplements like biotin which are proven to work on skin and hair.

Sagarika-Zaheer Pre-Wedding Pics You Don’t Wanna Miss!

It is one of those weddings for which both Bollywood and Indian cricket stars and fans alike await for with bated breath. The romance between Bollywood stars and cricketers carries a legacy that dates back to Pataudi and Sharmila days. This time Zaheer Khan along with his long-term beau, actress Sagarika Ghatge came forward to take the legacy ahead. Last week, the two stars tied the knot in a private ceremony. The lovebirds got engaged this May and, as the date was decided, they became man and wife this Nov 23. Presenting pics and details you wouldn’t wanna miss!

What made the Sagarika Ghatge and Zaheer Khan wedding so special?

To start with, the ace cricketer and the Bollywood actress started with a registry ceremony at the Lower Parel house of Zaheer Khan.

Just as they managed to keep their love life out of the curious eyes of paparazzi, the stars got hitched in an equally private ceremony. The ceremony was only attended by special friends and relatives of the couple.

Looking breathtakingly beautiful in a red silk saree by Sabyasachi, Sagarika posed with Zaheer Khan who looked dapper in a peach kurta pajama. Seen attending the even were another Bollywood-cricket couple-Hazel Keech and Yuvraj Singh. The heavy statement choker necklace and matching earrings deserve special mention here.

zaheer khan, sagarika ghatge, vidya malvade

Vidya Malvade, Sagarika’s best friend from the industry was among the few guests who were invited to all the ceremonies.

Post the registry marriage on Thursday, the couple threw a cocktail party for the guests from both film and cricket fraternities.

Seen at the cocktail party, Sachin Tendulkar along with wife Anjali happily posed for the shutterbugs.

Vidya Malvade was seen wearing a beautiful self-styled lehenga.

The friend and co-player for long, Harbhajan Singh came to celebrate the moment with the couple.

Hazel Keech was spotted wearing a black and golden dress for the cocktail party.

Here, the couple was seen posing with Parthiv Patel and his wife.

On the wedding dinner, Sagarika chose to wear a gotapatti saree in pink and clearly bowled all the spectators out with her drop-dead gorgeous looks.

Zaheer khan wedding

The groom too looked every bit of handsome in the black bandhgala suit.

zaheer khan sagarika ghatge mehndi

Later, the friends of the couple organised a special mehndi ceremony.

sagarika ghatge mehndi

While Sagarika looked like a princess in the sea green Anita Dongre lehenga, Zaheer looked regal in a royal blue kurta.

And there’s another party to add to the week-long wedding ceremony. The couple recently held another party to celebrate their most significant moments with close friends.

From Sania Mirza to Ashish Nehra, this lavish party was attended by the cricketers and friends from the film industry.

Hold on, the wedding doesn’t end here. We’ll soon share the best moments from the most-waited function from Zaheer Khan wedding saga, the lavish reception which was held at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower in Mumbai.

zaheer khan wedding invite

The grand reception invite which was designed by the star designer, Ravish Kapoor, shows us how particular the couple is about their choices. This innovative card has a tree in centre which was conceptualized by Sagarika whereas Zaheer is the man behind the elegant colour choice of matte gold and subtle shade of purple. To get the accurate texture as suggested by the couple, the designer imported a special paper Modi Gliani from Italy.

Keep an eye on this space to get the first updates of Sagarika and Zaheer’s reception ceremony.

7 Skin Unfriendly Foods Brides Must Avoid

$
0
0

We bet that you began taking extra care of your diet and put in a few more hours at the gym as the countdown to your wedding day began. After all, being healthy from within and feeling good about yourself will show in many ways as you say your wedding vows.

Let’s look at another aspect when it comes to health- food. With so many yummy snacks and savouries being made by the elders in the house, it’s almost impossible to say no to childhood favourite treats. But if you’re serious about keeping your complexion clear and glowing (because we all know that what you eat shows up on your face), then here are the top 7 skin unfriendly foods that every bride should avoid:

1. Dairy

skin unfriendly foods

It’s a myth that vegetarians can get their share of protein and calcium only by consuming dairy products. Plenty of veggies, organic nuts and seeds also contain good amounts of protein and calcium minus the hormones that are often found in milk. We suggest keeping consumption of any dairy product to a bare minimum as a strong link between sudden breakouts, cystic acne and dairy products has been established.

2. High Fibre Foods

skin unfriendly foods

Now, why would food that contains high amount of fibre be on our list of skin unfriendly foods, you may ask? Indulge in lentils by all means especially if you are on a vegetarian or vegan diet, but do remember that overindulging in dal makhni could increase your overall calorie intake besides also giving you gastric disorders like excess flatulence or constipation.

3. White Carbs

skin unfriendly foods

It takes nothing short of Herculean effort to say no to a bowl of creamy pasta but eating refined carbs actually does nothing for your body or health. What it does do, is make you feel bloated and full without giving your body any nutrients. These refined carbs can also increase your body weight, belly fat and show up as unsightly acne on your skin- all the more reason why they are on our list of skin unfriendly foods to stay away from.

4. Caffeine

skin unfriendly foods

So, you simply cannot begin your day without a nice aromatic cup of coffee in your hands. No, we aren’t saying that you should say a big no to your favourite brew but what we are saying is to limit your overall intake of caffeine. Yes, that also includes all cola beverages and even ice-cream or chocolate that contains caffeine. Too much of caffeine leaves you mentally perked up but also dehydrates you inside. Add caffeine to fizzy drinks and you’re literally stripping your body of nutrients.

Weddings are a special occasion and with so many fresh sweets and delicacies being prepared and served, it’s hard to say no to a nice ghee laden laddoo. We at weddingsonline understand your sugar cravings thoroughly but if you really want clear skin on your wedding day, then staying clear of sugar or at least limiting your intake to a minimum should be top priority. You’ll know you’re having a sugar breakout when you find pimples popping up on your cheeks. Brides with PCOD will find that their symptoms improve once sugar is entirely eliminated from the diet.

A wedding is a celebration after all isn’t it and if we’re not going to pop a bottle now, then when? However, since this article is about skin unfriendly foods, you should know that alcohol has been known to age the skin faster. Yes, your favourite red wine can increase the presence of fine lines across your face, and also leave you severely dehydrated. Keeping alcohol consumption to a minimum and drinking enough water is important for clear skin.

Enough has been written about the dangers of consuming too much salt every day. In fact, the biggest culprits are canned food, chips, fries, fast food and most other unhealthy snacks that we Indians just can’t do without.  A high salt diet puts extra stress on the kidneys, increases blood pressure and also affects skin elasticity. If you wake up in the morning with puffy eyes and dark circles, then take it as a warning sign to limit sodium intake.
